The visuals at the end of the Infinity War movie strongly suggest that the current state of the Infinity Gauntlet is that it is worn out & depleted, at least somewhat, by Thanos’ snap-the-fingers action. So there may be a a period of time during which Thanos will not have access to the full power of the Gauntlet.
